CGCC and its parent organization, the Fourth Freedom Forum, cohosted this panel discussion and reception with the Ambassador of Denmark to the United States to showcase the important strides that have been made in developing more-holistic approaches to countering and preventing terrorism. Ambassador Daniel Benjamin, Counterterrorism Coordinator at the U.S. Department of State, highlighted advances in U.S. counterterrorism efforts over the last four years, in particular improvements in multilateral cooperation brought about through the Global Counterterrorism Forum, a global initiative launched by the United States and Turkey in September 2011. Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen, Danish Ambassador to the United States, spoke from his extensive experience on counterterrorism issues in various positions in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and highlighted continuing cooperation between CGCC and the Danish ministry, especially in the East Africa region.
