The Global Center implemented a train-the-trainer workshop for Indonesian prison and service staff, in cooperation with the Indonesian Directorate General of Corrections (DGC). The workshop aimed to train a cadre of local facilitators to deliver training for prison staff on the management of violent extremist offenders in maximum security facilities in Indonesia. Global Center also convened a meeting of Senior Leaders of the DGC, to discuss the strategic approach of the Indonesian prison service in the management of violent extremist offenders, and how the and the future efforts in partnership with the Global Center.

This training workshop is part of the Global Center’s overall Countering Violent Extremism in Prisons (CVE-P) program, which provides training and technical assistance to prison services on preventing and countering violent extremism. The project was established in partnership with the Global Counterterrorism Forum. The program is funded by the governments of Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Netherlands, Norway, and New Zealand.
